How to Add Your Website to Google Business Profile
Your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) shows up when someone searches your business name or looks for rentals near them. Adding your website URL there is one of the simplest things you can do to send more traffic directly to your catalog — and many businesses skip it or set it wrong.
This guide walks you through the process and covers the mistakes that cause the link to not work or not appear.
Before you start
- A Google account that has Owner or Manager access to your Business Profile
-
Your website URL — for Alquilame users this is your storefront URL, e.g.
https://tuempresa.alquilame.ioor your custom domain
Step 1 — Open your Business Profile
Go to business.google.com and sign in with the Google account linked to your profile.
You will see a list of businesses you manage. Click on the one you want to edit.
If you manage the profile directly from Search: Type your business name in Google Search, and if you are logged in as an owner or manager, you will see an “Edit profile” button below the map card. Click it — this opens the same editor.
Step 2 — Go to “Edit profile”
Inside your Business Profile dashboard, click “Edit profile” (or the pencil icon). A panel will slide open with all your business information.
Step 3 — Find the “Website” field
Scroll down in the edit panel until you see the Website field. It is usually near the bottom of the “Contact” section, after phone number and address.
Click the field to edit it.
Step 4 — Enter your URL
Type or paste your full website URL, including https://. For example:
https://tuempresa.alquilame.io or, if you have a custom domain connected:
https://www.tuempresa.com Then click Save.
Step 5 — Verify it appears on your profile
Wait a few minutes, then search for your business on Google. In the knowledge panel on the right (or the card on Maps), you should see a “Website” link. Click it to confirm it opens the correct page.
Common mistakes
Entering the URL without https://
If you type tuempresa.alquilame.io instead of https://tuempresa.alquilame.io, Google may reject the format or display the link incorrectly. Always include the full protocol.
Using http:// when your site is https://
If your site redirects HTTP to HTTPS, the link may still work — but it is better practice to enter the HTTPS version directly to avoid unnecessary redirects.
Entering the wrong subdomain
Alquilame storefronts use your specific subdomain. Make sure it is tuempresa.alquilame.io, not just alquilame.io. If you have a custom domain, use that one instead.
Saving and not verifying Google sometimes shows the old URL in cached results for a while. Always click the website link after saving to confirm it goes to the right place.
Not having edit access If you do not see the edit option, your account may only have Viewer access. Ask the profile owner to upgrade your role to Manager or Owner in the Business Profile settings.
The website field is missing Certain business categories (especially service-area businesses in some regions) may have limited fields. If you do not see the Website field, try switching to the full desktop view of business.google.com rather than using the in-Search editor.
