How to Connect Your Squarespace Domain to Alquilame.io

alquilame

If your domain is managed through Squarespace and you want it to show your Alquilame rental catalog, you only need to add two DNS records. You do not need to transfer your domain or cancel your Squarespace plan — everything stays where it is.

Before you start

  • Access to your Squarespace account (the one that manages your domain)
  • Your domain name (e.g., miempresa.com)
  • Your Alquilame account open — you will need to enter the domain there too

Step 1 — Enter your domain in Alquilame

Log in to your Alquilame dashboard and go to Settings → Custom Domain.

In the input field, type your domain exactly as you want visitors to use it — for example: miempresa.com. Then save.

Step 2 — Open Squarespace DNS settings

  1. Log in to squarespace.com and go to your account home.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Domains.
  3. Click on your domain.
  4. Click DNS Settings.

Step 3 — Add the two DNS records

Scroll to the Custom Records section and add the following two records:

Record 1 — Root domain

Field Value
Type ALIAS
Name / Host @
Value rent-ejej.onrender.com

Record 2 — www subdomain

Field Value
Type CNAME
Name / Host www
Value rent-ejej.onrender.com

Click Save after adding each record.

Note: The @ symbol means the root of your domain (i.e., miempresa.com without any prefix). The CNAME for www covers visitors who type www.miempresa.com.

Step 4 — Wait for DNS propagation

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate worldwide, though they typically go live within 30–60 minutes.

To check if your records are active, use dnschecker.org — enter your domain and select ALIAS or CNAME to see if it resolves to rent-ejej.onrender.com.

Once propagation is complete, your domain will load your Alquilame catalog.

Common issues

The domain still shows the Squarespace page DNS has not propagated yet. Wait up to 60 minutes and check again. If it persists, confirm that the Value field is exactly rent-ejej.onrender.com with no extra spaces.

Squarespace shows “Record already exists” There is an existing A record or CNAME on @ or www. Remove the conflicting record before adding the new one.

The domain resolves but shows an Alquilame error Double-check that you saved the domain correctly in your Alquilame settings (Step 1). The domain must match exactly what visitors will type.

Summary

Step Action
